Frequently Asked Questions

When can I visit?

There are six information sessions this year when interested students and their families can come and visit the school.  Eighth graders are also invited to participate in a shadow day at Cristo Rey.  Shadow Days are done by appointment between the months of October and February.

How do I apply?

Interested eighth graders can fill out the application and apply after they receive their first quarter grades. Students are highly encouraged to schedule an appointment to submit the application with their parents.  If that is not possible applications can also be mailed in or dropped off in the main office of the school.  Applications are due February 9, 2012.  The second part of the process is an interview.  Interviews will be scheduled for either March 3 or 4, 2012.  Cristo Rey does NOT have an admission test.

When will I find out if I was accepted?

Decision letters are mailed out on March 30, 2012.

What is the tuition at Cristo Rey?

Tuition is roughly $11,000.00.  However, each of our students helps pay a portion of their tuition through the innovative Corporate Internship Program.  The most any family pays in tuition for the 2011-2012 school year is $2,925.00.  There is no additional cost for books or fees.  Financial aid is also available for families that qualify.

Does Cristo Rey offer scholarships?

No, we do not offer scholarships at Cristo Rey.  We do offer Financial Aid which is based on financial need.  All incoming freshman will fill out an application for financial aid during the interview weekend in March.

Do you provide transportation?

Cristo Rey does not provide private transportation for its students.  The campus is centrally located and easily accessible by public transportation.  The Damen stop of the CTA Pink Line is a 4 block walk to the school.  The #60 Blue Island bus and the #21 Cermak bus are also in walking distance.
