How It Works

In its most basic sense, the CIP program works as follows:

Students + Sponsors = Education

Without our sponsors, students would not be able to afford the private school tuition of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.  With the sponsors’ support, students are able to finance their own tuition and receive a quality, college prep education.

Job Sharing     +       Employee Leasing      =       Education
• Students work in job sharing teams to cover a standard business week, Monday through Friday.

• Students work standard daily business hours (approximately 9:00 a.m. to 4:40 p.m.)

• Academic schedules are structured so that students are available to work without missing class.

• Each student works five full days per month.

• Each team is composed of four students.		 • Sponsoring Companies contract with the Corporate Internship Program to fill full-time, entry level jobs in their offices.

• Students are employees of the Corporate Internship Program, NOT THE SPONSORING COMPANIES.

• The Corporate Internship program handles all payroll, W-4, I-9, Workers' Compensation, FICA, and other employer issues for the students.

• The program runs annually from Labor Day through the third week of June.		 • Students assign their earnings to Cristo Rey Jesuit High School to pay for 67% of the cost of their education.

• Students receive a college preparatory education they previously could not afford while gaining valuable job experience.

How does a team of students fill a full time position?  How do we make Job sharing work?

The Corporate Internship Program breaks students up by work days.  Each student is assigned a workday (Tues., Wed., Thurs. or Fri.)  As for Mondays, all of the students take turns working one Monday a month, every month.  A team of 4 students is assigned to each participating company, allowing them to fulfill 181 days of work during their school year.  The following chart can help you better understand the rotation.
