Ambassadors

Mission

For Cristo Rey Ambassadors to be the chief leaders in the promotion of the school’s image through school sponsored events.  Through their example, they demonstrate the six grad at grad characteristics to their peers, sponsors, the community, donors, perspective students, network prospects and the media.

Membership

• Moderators will invite students that qualify (good conduct and 3.0 GPA) to an information meeting at the end of first semester. 
• Interested students must then complete an application.
• Student must maintain a 3.0 G.P.A throughout the school year. 
• Grades will be checked after every quarter and warnings will be issued to students with GPAs below a 3.0
• At the semester, students who fail to bring their GPA up to a 3.0 will be placed on probation until their GPA is brought up.
• Must meet all academic expectations as listed on student handbook.
• Have good communication and presentation skills.
• Display a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
• Embody the Grad at Grad and Cristo Rey Spirit.
• Must participate in at least one event per quarter and attend meetings regularly to keep membership active
• If a student fails to participate in an event for the quarter or excessively misses meetings, they will become inactive in the Ambassadors.  Inactive students must schedule a meeting with a moderator to discuss future membership
• Must be willing to travel off campus if necessary.
• Have good communication with student body.

Structure

Because all ambassadors are school leaders there are no elected group leaders.

Accomplishments

Each year, Ambassadors provide over 500 hours of service to Cristo Rey by giving school tours during Admissions Open Houses, helping at Escuela Para Padres, and meeting with prospective Corporate Internship Program sponsors, visitors from the Cristo Rey Network, benefactors of the school, and news reporters.  This year, the Ambassadors also hosted a group of principals from Indonesia and students from a Jesuit high school in Denmark.
