Mission, Vision and Goals of the Counseling Department
Mission
The counseling department at CRJHS is committed to assisting all students and their families in meeting the demands of high school and in dealing with problems that may arise in school, at home, or in the community. Counselors assist students to advance human and intellectual capacities, as well as the religious and cultural heritage of the families being served by the school.
Vision
The guidance department is committed to providing every student the opportunity to achieve success to his/her fullest potential in the areas of academics, career, and personal/social.
Goals
The overall goals of the counseling program are as follows:
- To provide quality counseling to students and their families.
- To help educate families about parenting issues and problems which may arise between the student and his/her parents and siblings.
- To provide the students with an environment which is supportive of the whole range of human functioning – intellect, emotional, physical, and spiritual. It is the belief of the counselors that the students in turn will attend to each of these dimensions in the lives of their families, friends, and the larger community.
- To network our services with other professionals and agencies in the community, and to further develop and expand a model by which counseling professionals can respond to community needs.
- To help each student become familiar with available community resources, and to enable each to become fully self-supporting.
The goals of the counseling department fall under the areas of career, academic and personal/social.
