Frequently Asked Questions

When can I visit?
There are six information sessions this year when interested students and their families can come and visit the school. Eighth graders are also invited to participate in a shadow day at Cristo Rey. Shadow Days are done by appointment between the months of October and February. You can view our available Shadow Days and schedule a visit on our online forms portal. Please note that you will have to create an account before scheduling a Shadow Day.

How do I apply?
Interested eighth graders can fill out the application and apply after they receive their first quarter grades. Applications can now be completed online through our online forms portal. Please note that you will have to create an account, upload supporting documents and will need email addressses for teachers to request a recommendation. Paper applications can also be downloaded in English or Spanish. Parents can schedule an appointment to submit the application by calling (773) 890-6838. Applications should be submitted as soon as possible. The second part of the process is an interview. Cristo Rey does NOT have an admission test.

When will I find out if I was accepted?
Decision letters are mailed out on April 2, 2018.

What is the tuition at Cristo Rey?
Tuition is roughly $13,000.00. However, each of our students helps pay a portion of their tuition through the innovative Corporate Work Study Program. The most any family pays per student in tuition for the 2017-2018 school year is $2,950.00. There is no additional cost for books or fees. Financial aid is also available for families that demonstrate need.

Does Cristo Rey offer scholarships?
Cristo Rey offers need based financial aid. All incoming freshmen will fill out an application for financial aid during the interview weekend in March. After a student is accepted and enrolled at Cristo Rey, there are various opportunities to receive financial assistance, including scholarships, for which a student may qualify. Scholarships have various criteria, most of which are based on the financial need of the family, in addition to requiring a minimum GPA and/or community service.

Do you provide transportation?
Cristo Rey does not provide private transportation for its students. The campus is centrally located and easily accessible by public transportation. The Damen stop of the CTA Pink Line is a 4 block walk to the school. The #60 Blue Island bus and the #21 Cermak bus are also in walking distance.

Where do students work?
Cristo Rey Students work at a variety of law firms, banks, hospitals and non-profits. A complete list of our corporate partners can be found on the CWSP page.
