Run the Rey with us on April 2 and snag a limited edition t-shirt with artwork by Sentrock! Dear Friends, Spring has roared in again like a lion at Cristo Rey, with so much activity it's hard to capture in just one message. Please, read on to see a snapshot into what's happening on and off campus in Pilsen. The biggest news is a very successful Admissions Weekend the first weekend of March, where we met more than 170 prospective freshmen and their families. My special thanks go to the steadfast Admissions office, led by Blanca Gonzalez, and our faculty and staff interviewers who continue to recruit some of the finest young men and women in Chicagoland to attend Cristo Rey. I look forward to announcing not only our graduates in the coming months, but our newest Class of 2026. In other news, we are excited for the return of in-person events for Cristo Rey. First up, we're hosting our annual Run the Rey Hybrid 5k on Saturday, April 2. You can run/walk/jog/roll with us in person or support us virtually from anywhere in the world. Registration info is below and new this year is commemorative inaugural Sentrock designed shirts and stickers. And yes, ¡VIVA! returns on May 5 at the Bridgeport Art Center. More info is below and you'll hear from us in the coming weeks with invitations and more details of honorees, entertainment, and more ways to support us if you can't be there in person. My sincere gratitude for all of you who continue to cheer for us from all parts of the country – we couldn't do what we do without your support. Gratefully, Antonio Ortiz President |

Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarships: In January, hundreds of Cristo Rey families submitted applications for Illinois' Invest in Kids Tax Credit Scholarships in preparation for the upcoming 2022-2023 academic year. The Program allows individuals and corporations to contribute to student scholarships at Cristo Rey, through partner organizations Big Shoulders Fund and Empower Illinois, and receive an incredible 75% credit toward their Illinois state taxes. Read more about the Program's substantial impact this school year and consider making a qualifying gift in time for the start of the 2022-2023 academic year. Illinois' Tax Credit Scholarship Program has raised $250M since 2018, but that does not even begin to cover the growing demand for scholarships from families across the state.
