COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund

Even though our school building may be closed, classes are still in session and the faculty, staff, students, and parents of Cristo Rey are working harder than ever. We will not let them down.

Make a gift to the Cristo Rey COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund to help offset the calls for help we are receiving due to the COVID-19 public health crisis.

  • Emergency financial aid: More than 90% of our students receive free or reduced lunch and financial assistance toward to tuition, beyond work-study earnings. Additional financial aid will support the approximately 36% of students who report parents having lost employment.
  • Supplemental learning technology: More than 3% of our students lack reliable home access to a computer or internet. To support e-learning, Cristo Rey has distributed over one hundred laptops and internet hotspots and plans to distribute more this year.
  • Family relief services: Cristo Rey plans to provide $10,000 of emergency assistance – for groceries, toiletries, and clothing – by the end of the school year to some of the 21% of students who report paying for food and rent as their primary concerns.
  • Alumni college retention: With almost 600 college enrolled alumni unexpectedly being asked to move off campus and purchase technology while losing work-study jobs, our Director of College Support has received emergency financial assistance requests from 2% of those alumni.

Thank you for your generosity. Together, Cristo Rey will come through this crisis stronger than ever.
