El retiro Kairos / Kairos Retreat

Estimados padres:
Como ustedes ya sabrán, que su hijo/a participará en el retiro de Kairos que iniciará el miércoles 30 de marzo y terminará el viernes 1 de abril. Este retiro es para los seniors y se llevara a cabo en Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House en Barrington, Illinois.
De ante mano, les escribo para agradecerles por permitir que su hijo/a participe en este retiro, el cual es una experiencia muy importante para cada estudiante de Cristo Rey.
El retiro Kairos está diseñado en una forma en donde los jóvenes pueden explorar significativamente su fe. Aún durante esta pandemia, las preparatorias del país han organizado los retiros de Kairos con todas las medidas necesarias de salud y permitiendo el ambiente necesario para crear una experiencia espiritual. Durante el retiro, los estudiantes reflexionarán sobre su relación con Dios, la familia y los amigos, a través de una variedad de actividades. Entre estas se encuentran discursos de reflexión por los estudiantes y maestros, diálogos en grupos pequeños y grupos grandes, misa y el Sacramento de la Reconciliación. El retiro de Kairos ha demostrado ser una experiencia que cambia la vida de muchos de nuestros estudiantes y estamos emocionados de que su hijo o hija tenga esta oportunidad.
Con el fin de explicar adecuadamente el retiro, nuestras medidas de seguridad de COVID y responder cualquier pregunta que pueda tener, tendremos una reunión para padres el jueves 10 de marzo de 6:00 pm a 7:00 pm. La reunión se llevará a cabo de en persona en la cafetería de Cristo Rey. Debido a la naturaleza única del retiro, es muy importante que al menos uno de los padres/guardianes asista a la reunión. Si es posible, se recomienda que todos los padres/guardianes se conecten a la reunión. Sin embargo, los estudiantes de Cristo Rey no deben estar presentes en esta reunión. Estudiantiles compartirán con ustedes sobre su experiencia del retiro, incluyendo detalles que deben ser una sorpresa.
Si no pueden conectarse a la reunión, comuníquese conmigo al correo electrónico indicado al final de la carta. Haremos lo necesarios para asegurarnos de que reciban la misma información presentada durante la reunión.

Dear Parents,
As you may know, your son/daughter has signed up to attend the Kairos Retreat from Wednesday, March 30 until Friday, April 1. This retreat is for seniors and will be held at Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House in Barrington, Illinois.
First, thank you for allowing your child to be involved in this very important part of each Cristo Rey student’s high school experience.
The Kairos Retreat is especially designed for teens to explore their faith in a meaningful way. Even during this time of pandemic, high schools around the country have organized Kairos Retreats to be safe and meaningful spiritual experiences. During the retreat, students will reflect on his or her relationships with God, family, and friends through a variety of activities. These include student and teacher reflection speeches, small group discussions, large group sharing, mass, and the Sacrament of Reconciliation. The Kairos Retreat has proven to be a life-changing experience for many of our students, and we are excited for your son or daughter to have this opportunity.
In order to adequately explain the retreat, our COVID safety measures, and answer any questions that you might have, we will have a meeting for parents on Thursday, March 10 from 6 - 7 p.m. The meeting will be held in in the school cafeteria. Because of the unique nature of the retreat, it is very important that at least one parent/guardian attends the meeting. If possible, all parents/guardians should attend. However, Cristo Rey students should not be present for this meeting. Students will share with you about their retreat experience including details that are meant to be a surprise.
