The Presidential Legacy Scholarship (CLOSED)
In gratitude for decades of service to the families of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School, the Presidential Legacy Scholarship was established in honor of Fr. John Foley, S.J. Fr. James Gartland S.J., and Mr. Antonio Ortiz, the first three Presidents of Cristo Rey Jesuit High School.
The Presidential Legacy Scholarship is a prestigious merit-based scholarship awarded to students for their academic achievements, leadership roles, athletic talent, outstanding extracurricular involvement, and commitment to serving as Men and Women for Others. This full tuition scholarship will provide a financial benefit to families that sacrifice for their children's education, especially those that have sent multiple family members to Cristo Rey.
Eligibility:
- Sophomore, Junior or Senior
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher
- Maintain or exceed a good Work Study standing
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills in the classroom, in a sport or extracurricular activity.
- Show a commitment to becoming a Christian leader for others
- Preference is given to students with other family members (parents, older siblings, cousins, etc.) who attend(ed) Cristo Rey
Obligations:
- Quarterly check-ins to assess student success
- Students may be required to attend special school events
- Students must write a letter of gratitude
- Students will serve as ambassadors for the Advancement team
A maximum of 10 Presidential Scholarships are awarded each academic year. May be renewable ONLY if all criteria are met.
Award: $3,000 per award/ per year
Deadline: Online applications are accepted March 1 - April 30 each academic year. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure applications are completed on time and all required documentation is submitted by the deadline.
Students will be notified in mid-May if they are selected for the Presidential Legacy Scholarship.
