G.E.M. Scholarship (CLOSED)

*For young women

The GEM Scholarship supports a young woman in their studies at Cristo Rey through a four-year, renewable scholarship. The scholarship honors Gail and Ed May, friends of Cristo Rey. GEM Scholars should demonstrate the Jesuit ideal of being open to personal, academic, and spiritual growth during their four years at Cristo Rey.

Eligibility and Obligations:

  • Family demonstrates financial need
  • Student demonstrates openness to personal, academic, and spiritual growth
  • Student is a woman
  • Student is a sophomore, junior, or senior
  • Student has minimal tardy and absent days
  • 3.0 GPA
  • Send yearly thank you letter to the May family


Award: $2,950, possibly renewable for up to four years

Deadline: Online applications are accepted March 1 - April 30 each academic year. It is the student’s responsibility to make sure applications are completed on time and all required documentation is submitted by the deadline.
